Individual & Couples Therapy · Telehealth

What you're feeling makes sense. It still does.

Therapy for anxiety, life transitions, and the kind of overwhelm that doesn't have a clean explanation. A steady, unhurried space to work through what's actually going on — at a pace that's yours.

Currently accepting new clients — individual and couples sessions, offered via secure telehealth.
Every mind is valid. Every thought is valid. Every feeling is valid — even the ones that scare you, even the ones you can't explain.

That's the starting point, not something you have to earn.

Client-centered, not agenda-driven

This isn't goal-oriented therapy with a checklist. You set the direction, session to session. My job is to follow you there, not lead you somewhere I've already decided you should go.

Room for the whole story

We work through talk therapy, at the pace that's actually yours — with particular experience supporting people working through trauma, where rushing tends to do more harm than good.

No part of you needs defending

You don't have to justify why you feel the way you do before we can talk about it. The feeling itself is the starting material, not something to get past.

Areas of focus

What we work through together

Anxiety

Anxiety & overthinking

For when your mind won't stop running scenarios, or worry has started running the show. We work on the pattern, not just the symptom.

Transitions

Life transitions

Career changes, relationship shifts, becoming a parent, grief, moving — support for the in-between periods that don't have a name yet.

Burnout

Burnout & overwhelm

When functioning has quietly become the whole job. We look at what's unsustainable and what actually needs to change.

Self-worth

Self-criticism & self-worth

For the inner voice that's louder and harsher than anyone would ever speak to a friend. We work on changing that relationship.

Couples

Couples therapy

For partners working through recurring conflict, trust, or feeling unseen by each other — a space for both people to be heard without it turning into a debate.

Trauma

Trauma & past history

Gentle, paced exploration of past experiences and how they show up now — talking through personal and family history at whatever depth feels right, never forced.

Getting started

What the first few weeks look like

01

A free 20-minute consultation

A short call to talk about what's bringing you in, ask any questions, and get a feel for whether this is a good fit — no pressure either way.

02

An intake session

A longer first appointment to get the full picture: history, current stressors, and what you're hoping is different six months from now.

03

Weekly sessions

Most clients meet weekly at first, then move to biweekly as things stabilize. Sessions are 50 minutes, held via secure video through SimplePractice's telehealth platform — you'll get a private link for each appointment.

Michael Cronin, LMHC

Michael Cronin

LMHC — Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I work with adults across a wide range of life stages, drawing on psychoanalytic and psychodynamic approaches with a focus on trauma. My goal is to help clients explore how past and present experiences shape thoughts, emotions, and relationships — uncovering patterns and processing what's gone unresolved, rather than just managing symptoms.

My approach is collaborative and empathetic: I prioritize attentive listening and validation to create a safe space for insight, self-understanding, and lasting personal growth. You don't have to arrive with the answers already worked out — that's part of what we do together.

Questions before you reach out

Do you accept insurance?

Yes — I'm in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. For other insurers, I'm out-of-network but provide a superbill that many clients submit for partial reimbursement. I'm happy to walk through what that looks like on our consultation call.

What does a session cost?

For Blue Cross Blue Shield clients, cost depends on your plan's copay or coinsurance. Self-pay sessions are $175 for individuals and $195 for couples, for 50 minutes. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available — ask during your consultation if cost is a barrier.

Is telehealth actually effective?

Yes — research consistently supports its effectiveness, and some studies even find better follow-through with telehealth than other formats. All sessions are held over secure video, which also means we're not limited by your location within the state.

How do I know if I need therapy or just a vacation?

Often it's not either/or. The consultation call is a low-stakes way to find out — there's no obligation to continue afterward.
